What is an MCP connector, and why sports researchers should care
Ask a chatbot "how many points has this player averaged lately?" and you'll often get a confident answer that is out of date or simply made up. AI models are trained on old text. They don't know last night's box score.
MCP fixes that. MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It is an open standard that lets an assistant like ChatGPT or Claude call outside tools, live, while it answers you.
What a connector actually does
