How to read a player prop board in 60 seconds
A player prop board packs a lot into one row: a name, a line, a few fractions and a price. Once you know what each piece means, you can read a row in a few seconds and know whether it deserves a closer look.
Here's how to read a row on any hit-rate board, including DARIMARKET's.
The line
The line is the number the bet is about, like 24.5 points or 6+ assists. An over means he needs to go above it. Lines with a half point (24.5) can't push. Lines written as "25+" mean 25 or more.
Last 10 (L10)
L10 shows how many of his last 10 games he cleared that exact line: 8/10 means 8 of 10. It's the main number on the board because it covers enough games to show a pattern while staying recent.
Last 5 (L5)
L5 is the trend check. Compare it with L10:
- L5 higher than L10's rate: he's heating up on this line.
- L5 lower: he's cooling off, even if the 10-game number still looks good.
An 8/10 player who is 5/5 lately and an 8/10 player who is 2/5 lately are very different bets.
Average
His average over those games tells you how much room there is. If he averages 30 and the line is 24.5, there's cushion. If he averages 25 and the line is 24.5, it's close to a coin flip no matter what the hit rate says.
Home and road
Some players are steadier at home. If tonight's game is on the road, check his road split for the same line.
The opponent
Check who he's playing and how he did against them. A hit rate built against weak defenses can fall apart against a strong one.
The price
The price tells you what the sportsbook thinks. A -150 price implies about a 60% chance (150 ÷ 250). If his hit rate on the line is well above what the price implies, the row is worth a look. If it's below, the book is asking you to pay for a pattern that isn't there. Our breakeven guide shows how to turn any price into a percentage.
Putting it together
Read a row in this order: line, L10, L5, average, then the price. In about a minute you'll know whether the pattern is real, whether it's holding, whether the line has cushion and whether the price makes sense.
Where to practice
Today's hit-rate board shows every line that cleared 9 of the last 10 games, with L10, L5 and the game time. Each player's page shows the full breakdown, and the parlay checker runs the same checks on every leg of a slip.
Remember that hit rates describe past games, not future results. They're research, not a promise.
