Player prop
What does "player prop" mean in sports betting?
A player prop is a bet on an individual player's stat line, such as passing yards, points, rebounds, strikeouts or shots on goal, rather than on the game result.
Props are usually offered as an over/under on a number, and many books also post alt ladders (for example 50+, 60+, 70+ yards) at different prices.
Props depend heavily on playing time and role, so injuries, lineups and game script matter more than usual. Rules for players who don't play differ by book, and many void the prop if the player never takes the field, so check yours.
Example
Running back over 64.5 rushing yards at -115. A $115 bet wins $100 if he finishes with 65 or more. At -115 you need that to happen about 53.5% of the time to break even.
