Mackie Samoskevich answered on a Seattle power play late in the 2nd, but Matt Coronato scored 39 seconds into the 3rd and Ryan Strome added the sixth goal at 18:14. Calgary outshot Seattle 27-22 and scored on both of its power plays. Seattle used two goalies: Joey Daccord made 11 saves on 13 shots and Philipp Grubauer made 10 saves on 14. Dustin Wolf stopped 20 of 22 for Calgary.

Two DARIMARKET plays cashed on this game.

What cashed

Joel Farabee 1+ points (-145 at DraftKings): CASHED - Our read: Farabee led Calgary with 11 points (3 goals, 8 assists) in 12 games and had a point in 7 of his last 10, with Seattle projected to start Daccord (.882). This was a longer shot that landed. - What happened: 1 goal and 2 assists for 3 points in 15:18, including 2:03 on the power play. His primary assist on Frost's power-play goal at 2:32 of the 1st cashed it early, he set up Gridin's power-play goal at 8:43 of the 2nd, and he scored at 10:40 of the 2nd. - Worth watching: He was in on three of Calgary's first four goals, assisting on the first and third and scoring the fourth, with Coronato assisting on all three. That line's production is the angle to keep watching.

ALT: Over 5.5 total goals (-175 at DraftKings): CASHED - Our read: Seattle games had 6+ goals in 9 of its last 10 (7.8 per game) and Calgary games in 6 of 10, and both meetings this season had 7. The main total was 6.5, so we took the alt at 5.5 with Wolf confirmed for Calgary and Daccord projected for Seattle. - What happened: 8 total goals, 2.5 over the line. Samoskevich's power-play goal at 18:15 of the 2nd was the sixth goal and cashed it before the 3rd started. - Worth watching: The alt line gave a cushion of a full goal under the main total and the game cleared both. Our pregame numbers had Seattle games landing in this range, but the price on an alt is where the value has to come from.

How the game played out

The 2nd period decided it. Calgary scored three times in under five minutes, from 5:45 to 10:40, to turn a 1-1 game into 4-1. Seattle got one back on the power play, but Coronato's goal 39 seconds into the 3rd put it out of reach.

Trends to watch

  • Calgary scored on both of its power-play chances and Seattle scored once on 4. Special teams tilted Calgary's way.
  • Coronato finished with a goal and three assists. Any Calgary line prop tied to Farabee and Coronato is worth a look while they produce together.
  • Seattle allowed 6 goals on 27 shots across two goalies. Totals involving Seattle stay worth checking.
