Decimal odds
What does "decimal odds" mean in sports betting?
Decimal odds show the total amount returned per $1 staked, including your stake. They're common in Europe and on some exchanges.
A price of 2.50 returns $2.50 for every $1 bet: $1.50 profit plus your dollar back. The implied probability is 1 divided by the price, so 2.50 means 40%.
Decimal odds make parlay math easy, because you just multiply the legs together.
Example
2.50 is the same as +150. 1.667 is the same as -150. A two-leg parlay at 1.909 and 1.909 pays 3.645.
Related terms
Parlay
A parlay combines two or more bets into one ticket. Every leg has to win, and the payout is the odds of each leg multiplied together.
Implied probability
Implied probability is the win chance a price suggests. It turns odds into a percentage so you can compare them with your own estimate.
American odds
American odds show how much you risk to win $100 (minus numbers) or how much you win on a $100 bet (plus numbers).
