The Flames beat the Wild 2-1 in regulation, and both Calgary goals came on the power play in the 1st period. Aydar Suniev scored at 10:49 and Joel Farabee made it 2-0 at 14:06. Michael McCarron got Minnesota on the board with a slap shot at 4:39 of the 3rd, but Devin Cooley shut the door from there. Minnesota outshot Calgary 37-22, including 17-3 in the 3rd, and Cooley finished with 36 saves on 37 shots (.973). Jesper Wallstedt made 20 saves on 22 shots (.909) in 57:57 for Minnesota. Calgary scored twice on its four power plays, while Minnesota did not score on its four. Three DARIMARKET plays cashed on this game.

What cashed

Matt Boldy 3+ shots on goal (-285 at DraftKings): CASHED - Our read: Boldy had 3+ shots in 9 of his last 10 and 9 of 10 games this season, with 4 in his last 5. - What happened: 7 shots on goal in 25:05 (6:05 on the power play), 4.5 over the line. That was the most shots by any skater in the game. - Worth watching: Over 25 minutes with a big power-play share is the usage that drives this prop. The price was steep at -285, so a higher line at a better number may be the better way to play his volume.

Morgan Frost 2+ shots on goal (-150 at DraftKings): CASHED - Our read: Frost had 2+ shots in 8 of his last 10 and 6 of 8 games this season, with 3 in his last 5. - What happened: 4 shots on goal in 13:19 (4:05 on the power play), 2.5 over the line and the most on Calgary. He also had the primary assist on Farabee's power-play goal at 14:06 of the 1st. - Worth watching: He got there in just over 13 minutes, with 4:05 of that on the power play. If that role holds, the 1.5 line at a price like -150 stays worth a look.

Kirill Kaprizov 3+ shots on goal (-225 at DraftKings, -240 at FanDuel): CASHED - Our read: Kaprizov had 3+ shots in each of his last 5 and 9 of 10 this season, and Calgary was without Backlund and Huberdeau. - What happened: 4 shots on goal in 24:54 (6:14 on the power play), 1.5 over the line. - Worth watching: Nearly 25 minutes and more than 6 on the power play is a top-line workload. His shot floor has been steady, but the price was well past -200 here.

How the game played out

The 1st period decided it. Minnesota took three minors in the 1st, and Calgary scored on the last two: a tripping call on Blake Coleman at 9:30 and an interference call on Zach Bogosian at 13:22. After that the Wild controlled the shot count, 26-11 over the last two periods, but only McCarron's goal got past Cooley. Calgary had just three shots on goal in the 3rd.

Trends to watch

  • Minnesota's top power-play group logged heavy time: Kaprizov 6:14, Boldy 6:05, Joel Eriksson Ek 5:19 and Danila Yurov 5:20. Boldy and Kaprizov combined for 11 shots on goal.
  • Cooley faced 37 shots and stopped all but one. A Calgary goalie seeing that kind of workload is worth tracking for saves props.
  • Calgary's power play scored twice, with Frost, Farabee and Matt Coronato all on the scoresheet, and its penalty kill held the Wild without a goal.
